Buenaventura Port

Detailed Information

The Port of Buenaventura is Colombia’s main seaport on the Pacific Ocean and the largest and busiest in the country, handling 44% of the nation’s containerized cargo. The Buenaventura Regional Port Society (SPB) was granted the concession in 1994 to operate the maritime terminal for 20 years, which was extended until 2034. It is a multipurpose port, handling containers, general cargo, solid and liquid bulk, and automobiles. It has direct connections to more than 50 international ports, facilitating trade with the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
